Art Studios online classes include four pre-recorded sessions that will be released weekly to class registrants. Class experiences are roughly one hour each week. Students should plan to pause during the lesson to move through the process led by the teacher. 

 

Students will also have the opportunity to meet virtually via Zoom for one hour on a weekly basis with their classmates and teacher to review their work and ask questions. Class release dates and scheduled virtual meeting times are listed within each class description below. Please note: class viewing will be available for one week after the last class date.

This informative video series will continue our exploration of various fused glass techniques. Class consists of four, one hour video tutorials and four, one hour Q&A Zoom sessions. Tutorials include step by step demonstrations of how to create 3 small “modern” fused glass dishes, a multi-layer/multi-stage contemporary panel and one Vitrograph session. Cost of class includes multiple kiln firings, use of studio shaping molds and an assortment of unique Vitrograph noodles, stringers and twisties. Required materials not included but readily available from local suppliers or online include 2-3 square feet of fusible glass, glue (Elmer’s, Fuser’s or original super glue) approximately $20 - $50 total. Basic glass cutting tools required.

Fused glass dish

This fun video series will cover various materials and techniques to create American mosaics. Class consists of four, one hour video tutorials demonstrating step by step how to create an original Mosaic project of your choice and four, one hour Q&A Zoom sessions. Topics covered include an explanation of glass mosaic fundamentals, project ideas, glass cutting, discussion of various readily available materials and products. Cost of class does not include materials or hand tools, students can expect to pay an additional $20-$50.

Mosaic vase and block

This informative video series will reveal in detail a unique multi-technique process used to create sophisticated fused glass art. Class consists of four, one hour video tutorials demonstrating step by step how to create a contemporary fused glass dish and four 1 hour Q&A Zoom sessions. Topics covered include an explanation of fused glass fundamentals, designer tips for abstract compositions, glass cutting, use of frit “grout” in two layered glass fusing creating “crackled” components and stenciled powder embellishments. Cost of class includes 2oz bag fine frit, 2oz bag powder, small assortment of stringers, multiple kiln firings and use of studio shaping molds. Required materials not included but readily available from local suppliers or online include 10” square of clear fusible, 10 additional square inches of fusible glass, glue (Elmer’s, Fuser’s or original super glue) approximately $20 total. Basic glass cutting tools required.
