Every May, Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum produces a Season Prospectus, which provides the submission guidelines for the museum's exhibiting opportunities for the year. For any questions, please contact mesacontemporaryarts@MesaAZ.gov.

 

Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum is currently not accepting any unsolicited proposals. Artists who DO NOT follow the guidelines outlined in the Prospectus and were not contacted directly by Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum staff about participating in an exhibition are considered unsolicited artists. Artists who apply for an opportunity and follow the guidelines outlined in the Prospectus are NOT considered unsolicited. Unsolicited materials will be returned without comment.

 

 

47th ANNUAL CONTEMPORARY CRAFTS

The Annual Contemporary Crafts highlights the finest in contemporary crafts from around the country, our annual crafts exhibition has become a benchmark of innovation and quality produced within traditional craft forms such as ceramics, fibers, basketry, metals, wood, glass, jewelry, papermaking and book arts.

 

About the Juror: Born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Andres Payan Estrada currently lives and between Los Angeles, CA and El Paso, TX. He graduated with an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and is currently the is currently the senior curator at the Rubin Center for the Visual Arts in El Paso, TX. Payan Estrada works in craft-based processes including clay, textiles, and collage which he uses to explore social surfaces, ephemeral exchanges, and queer experiences. His curatorial and academic practice focuses on issues revolving around contemporary craft with special interests in ceramics, material politics, and queer artistic practices.

Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum is now accepting submissions through the annual Season Prospectus. Artists, curators, and collectives are invited to propose solo or group exhibitions in any medium. This is a unique opportunity to present work in one of Arizona’s leading contemporary art spaces. Whether you're proposing a fully realized show or a concept in development, we encourage bold, original ideas that push boundaries and engage diverse audiences.
