This hybrid class will introduce students to the basics of lapidary stone cutting and metalsmithing skills. Each student will cut their own custom stone cabochon and create a precious metal ring with a setting for their stone. Students will spend the first 3 weeks cutting and shaping their stones, and the following 3 weeks in the jewelry studio creating a jewelry piece with that stone, leaving with a piece that is 100% handmade from start to finish! This class is perfect for beginners or experienced students who would like a refresher course in either lapidary or jewelry making.
