Dive into the world of printmaking! This beginner class will survey three printmaking techniques: relief, where designs are carved onto a linoleum block; drypoint, where designs are scratched onto a printing plate; and monotype, where ink is painted onto a printing plate. Using our traditional printing press, students will then transfer their original designs onto paper. This class is designed for beginners, but repeat students and experienced artists are also welcome! Our studio is equipped with tools and inks that students may use, but a materials list for consumable items will be provided on the first day.
