ASU Olli: What is Jazz and How do I listen to It?

This is a Lifelong Learning event. 

This course will explore the diverse styles of jazz, addressing the complexities that often arise for new listeners in distinguishing what constitutes jazz and what does not. We will examine the historical development of this great American art form, highlighting pivotal movements and key figures within each style. In addition to studying notable recordings and their respective timelines, we will delve into the contributions of influential innovators who have shaped the evolution of jazz.
