In this workshop, students will take wool “fluff” and turn it into a beautiful floral wall hanging with their bare hands! No experience necessary.  Students will layer wool fibers in various colors to create a piece of art representing the types of flowers they enjoy. Then, we will apply water and soap and, using wet felting principles, create fiber migration which shrinks and firms up the wool to create a strong fabric.  This can be framed for display, hung like a wall tapestry, or even further embellished with beading, embroidery, or quilting.  The sky is the limit when you learn how to make your own fabric.  During class, students will have access to over 40 different embellishment materials to integrate into their work.  Finally, all students will take home a wet felting kit allowing them to continue to explore and develop their wet felting skills in the future.

Our mission is to make the art studio classrooms a space for relaxation, enjoyment, discovery and learning. To help aid in that pursuit, the studios department has employed the use of sensory kits available to all students in any class. Upon request to your instructor, a variety of sensory and stress-relieving items will be provided in class.

Additionally, enChroma glasses are available for youth, teens and adults in any of the studio programs. If you struggle with color blindness, consider requesting use of these glasses in your next class!
