The torch table has a rolled stainless steel surface with eight stations. Each station is equipped with adjustable fume extractor arms. Natural gas and liquid oxygen power the torches. Quick connects enable students to bring in their own torches if they like. Two bead box annealers, two AF99 and one Evenheat front loader with a 22" x 22" capacity provide plenty of space for flameworking projects.
The soldering table is also equipped with two fume extractors.
The kiln room houses our Quick-Fire, Aim, and Duncan kilns and a new, top fire Denver KL-60 with inside dimensions of 30" x 60" x 12". The kiln room has its own ventilation system and storage shelves for works in the firing queue.
The courtyard has a 36" x 18" x 18" GFA-36 Digital Front Load Annealer from Denver Glass; a Denver Glass GH-18 split door 18" x 24" Glory Hole; and a 45-pound three pot crucible kiln from CRLoo. We start our off-hand department with small projects such as paperweights until our full blown hot shop is set up sometime in the future.
The cold shop has a GS-100 glass diamond band saw, able to cut a piece of glass up to 5" thick by 14" deep. A 45 degree tilt table allows miter cuts. There is also a one hp 4" x 106" wet abrasive belt sander from CR Laurence, and a 1/3 hp Diamond Pacific 10" TS-B slab saw with a 12" x 17" table, good for up to 3.5" thick slabs. A Denver Glass DG-18"lap grinder features a ½ hp constant torque variable speed motor. The lap plate is precision balanced for smooth running.
Another powerhouse from Denver Glass is the SB-810AB, a 1/3 hp electroplated diamond-beveling machine with four vertical wheels, both 8" for straight line and 4" for inside curves that can handle glass up to 14" and can accommodate two students at a time. An assortment of glass grinders, a Gryphon diamond wire saw, a Taurus II ring saw and a Foredom flexible shaft round out the cold working equipment.
The courtyard houses our 976 Pro Detailer sandblast cabinet from TP. The cabinet measures 58" x 34.5" for midsize pieces. It is powered by a receiver tank able to handle non-stop deep blast jobs.
