Presented by Mesa Arts Center as part of the Performing Live Series

New York Times’ bestselling author of six nonfiction books, Sarah Vowell and best-selling author Daniel Handler, will be in conversation onstage together, with book signing to follow. Vowell, author of Lafayette in the Somewhat United States, examines the connections between the American past and present, with personal, often humorous accounts of everything from presidents and their assassins to colonial religious fanatics.

Handler’s most recent novel is All the Dirty Parts. His novel, We Are Pirates which Neil Gaiman praises as “Honest and funny, dark and painful. We Are Pirates, reads like the result of a nightmarish mating experiment between Joseph Heller and Captain Jack Sparrow. It’s the strangest, most brilliant offering yet from the mind behind Lemony Snicket,” now seen in their adaptation on NETFLIX.
