Since beginning her career covering the conflict in Kosovo, photojournalist Ami Vitale has chosen to “live the story.” Vitale has lived in mud huts, contracted malaria, and braved civil war. Her belief that “you can’t talk about humanity without talking about nature” led her to chronicle her journey from documenting warzones to reintroducing rhinos to the wild.
