From the Street to the Gallery

May 12, 2016

Do you love the mural on Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum’s elevator shaft? The artist behind the two-story work is none other than famed Los Angeles artist El Mac. Starting tomorrow you can get up close and personal with more of his work than the mural – his exhibition Aerosol Exalted, of which the mural is a part, opens in the museum and will be on display through August 7. Join us 7-10 p.m. Friday, May 13 to celebrate this and four other exhibitions opening for the summer season. You are invited to enjoy live entertainment in the beautiful Wayne and Kathye Brown Sculpture Courtyard, meet some of the artists and be among the first people to see works in the museum by El Mac, Susan Lenz, Kristin Beeler, Chrisopher Jagmin, Patricia Sannit and more.

For those of you who have an affinity for El Mac’s signature rippled line style, be sure to check out the limited edition relief prints* printed by Santo Press exclusively for Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum to accompany Aerosol Exalted. The print’s image (pictured above) is based on El Mac’s 2015 Ars et Scientia mural at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
