Summer Arts Camps at MAC Offer a World of Creative Options

by Turiya Chavez | April 10, 2018

With summer quickly approaching, parents will soon be scrambling to figure out how to keep their children engaged during the day while they are away at work. Fear not! Mesa Arts Center may have the perfect solution. Summer Arts Camps begin on June 4 and run through July 27. Campers can enroll by the day or by the week, in arts camps and classes such as Hip Hop, jewelry and ceramics.

Each camp offers unique, hands-on exploration. Camps begin at 7 a.m. each day and run through 6 p.m. What exactly does one do in a Hip Hop or ceramics camp? Each camp is led by extremely knowledgeable teaching artists in their discipline. Depending on the camp, teachers will instruct campers through: dance basics, music, DJing, history lessons, drawing, painting, glass fusing, spoken word, ceramic techniques, jewelry making and more. Creativity can be found in every corner!

The camps are designed with young people in mind, and will accommodate all skill levels. More information on the daily camp schedule and pricing can be found here.
