Get ready for a weekend full of fun, family-friendly things-to-do on Saturday, March 17 from noon- 11PM and Sunday, March 18 from 10AM- 5PM at spark! Mesa’s Festival of Creativity. The spark! festival celebrates the imaginative spark in us all. The event will showcase artists and performers from Arizona that invite visitors to enjoy: live music, aerial dance performances, hands-on experiences, live art-making, installations, art demonstrations, and a variety of drinks and foods. Visitors can expect Mesa Arts Center to be transformed into a colorful and engaging wonderland that parents and children alike will have the opportunity to explore.
Mesa Arts Center is located on Main Street in downtown Mesa which allows for stress-free arrival by private vehicle, light rail or bus. Attendees are encouraged to move about the various attractions at their own pace, partake in the hands-on activities, and observe the variety of performances taking place. A feature of this year’s spark! festival is the art car display which will include cars created by a number of leading art car artists in the U.S. The cars will make their grand entrance at 11:30AM on Saturday, March 17 and visitors are encouraged to join Mesa Arts Center in welcoming their arrival.
If the arts cars seem exciting, there is much more to explore at the festival. There will be clay that participants can mold into their favorite traditional food as part of a still-life, ceramics installation. There will be dance and aerial performances from CaZo Dance and Dark Sky Aerial. Live music, art samplers, and a visit to the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum will round out the days. Looking for a fun and engaging way to welcome spring? You found it at spark! Mesa’s Festival of Creativity.
