Last Minute Holiday Shopping

December 14, 2015

Are you like me? Did you wait until now to get gifts for the hard-to-shop-for person on your list? Here’s what I have left:

  • The particular fashionista.
  • The quirky creative type.
  • The person who already has everything.

At the top is the fashionista, my friend who loves to have the one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry that goes with everything. I’m popping into The Store, Artists Cooperative Gallery, for a hand stamped, Arizona artist-made bracelet piece that has a map pattern on the top. Everyone will want to know where she got it, but she’ll be the only one with a piece of jewelry that stands out and also celebrates her love for traveling.

Then, I’ve got the quirky one who is very hard to buy for, because he doesn’t like “stuff” and is endlessly creative. I’m getting him a gift card to use in the art studios at Mesa Arts Center, so he can add a new skill to his repertoire of creative talents. I’m thinking he’ll want to give blacksmithing or welding a try – two timeless trades that seem to never go out of style.

Finally, my grandma, who lives a full life and literally has everything she could ever want. She doesn’t need anything, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still want to show her how much she is appreciated. For her, I’m picking up a 2016 print calendar from Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, full of hand produced prints adhered with photo corners for easy removal for framing. Each of the twelve months has a different print and no two calendars are alike.

Aaaaaaaaaand done. I one-stop shopped and the list is complete! Get the gifts your family and friends won’t stop talking about at Mesa Arts Center.
