Bubble Wrap Enthusiasts Unite!

by Mesa Arts Center | January 5, 2016

Our friends at the Phoenix New Times picked the newest exhibition in the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum as one of the 11 Things You Should do and See in Metro Phoenix This Week, and well, we agree. Ecosystem, by Bradley Hart, will likely increase your fascination with a simple packing assistant – bubble wrap. Instead of employing bubble wrap for its gratifying “pops” Hart uses it as an unlikely canvas. And the results are a must-see.

Writer Amy Young says of the exhibition, “Are you one of those people who sees bubble wrap and can’t keep your hands off its plastic pearls? That overwhelming desire to pop those little pods is something you must suppress at the exhibition ‘Ecosystem by Bradley Hart.’ The artist’s work is made by injecting bubble wrap with acrylic paint to create pixelated, photorealistic images. He uses photos of family and friends as his base of inspiration. Keep your hands in your pockets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, at Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, One East Main Street.”

The exhibition opens today, Tuesday, January 5, and admission to the museum is always free.
