June Valk, Performing Arts Specialist
June is currently a Performing Arts Specialist for the Mesa Arts Center. She is also the director of Creative Zone, an actor's workshop developed for youth ages 12-16. June holds a B. A. in Theatre Arts from Arizona State University. She has been working and studying in her field locally, nationally, and abroad for over 15 years. June has earned various awards, including an AriZoni, for her appearances onstage. In spring of 2004, she made her directorial debut for Mesa Youtheatre with "Somebody Catch My Homework."
Marlina Kessler, Performing Arts Specialist
Marlina is currently a Performing Arts Specialist for Mesa Arts Center and director of Off Center Dance. She earned a B.F.A. in secondary education from Arizona State University. Marlina has studied with a variety of teachers throughout her 25-year career including: Cliff and Elina Keuter, Bill Evans, and Marian Giannatti. She has also choreographed and performed professionally with Movement Source Dance Company.
Sarah Roberts, Instructor II
Sarah started teaching at the Mesa Arts Center fall of 2004. She received her B.F.A. in Acting and Music Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. She has worked as an actor, musician and teacher in New York City, Los Angeles and in her home state of North Carolina.
Katie Vandiver, Instructor II
Katie has been teaching at the Mesa Arts Center for almost a year. She is finishing the last semester of her Bachelors in Art Education at Arizona State University. Katie's art emphasis is mainly in ceramics and mixed media. Her ceramic artwork has been shown in the "Down to Earth" exhibition at the Step Gallery and in the "Art in Education" exhibition at the Harry Wood Annex.
Various other contracted instructors will teach these classes as well.
